StepLimit is an iPhone app. Your step data, daily goals, app restrictions, and usage history stay on your device — in Apple HealthKit and Screen Time. The app requires no account and has no backend for that data.
The app sends diagnostics to Sentry. This website uses Ahrefs Web Analytics on most pages and has a support form. These are described below.
StepLimit uses Sentry to find crashes, slowdowns, and cases where app blocking silently fails.
The app does not collect behavior tracking, session replay, or user-level analytics. Sentry does not receive HealthKit data or information about which apps you have restricted.
We use Ahrefs Web Analytics on steplimit.com to understand page visits, traffic sources, and outbound link clicks. It is separate from the iPhone app and receives no HealthKit data, app restrictions, or app usage history. We do not load it on the support page, which can contain device details in its URL and has a contact form.
Ahrefs says its default tracker uses no cookies or persistent identifiers. It processes page URLs, referrers, browser and device information, language, and approximate location down to the city. Ahrefs uses an IP address and user agent to count daily unique visitors and says it discards the raw IP address. See Ahrefs' explanation of its web analytics data.
If you contact us through the support page, we receive the name, email address, topic, and message you submit. When you open that page from the app, the app may also add its version, your iOS version, device model, and locale to the URL and prefill them in the message. Cloudflare processes the form request and its Turnstile check; Resend delivers the message to us by email. We use this information to respond to your request. Ahrefs Web Analytics is not loaded on the support page.
StepLimit contains no advertising SDKs, attribution frameworks, or analytics SDKs beyond Sentry. There is no Facebook SDK, Google SDK, or similar third-party code in the app.
We access step count data through Apple HealthKit solely to power the app's core function — counting steps and unlocking apps when your goal is met. We never sell, share, or use HealthKit data for advertising or marketing. We comply with Apple's HealthKit data use requirements.
StepLimit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app and you have concerns, contact us at the address below.
